When the fight seems hopeless, fight harder. The Signature Spellbook product line is a celebration of Magic: The Gathering's iconic heroes, the Planeswalkers. We collect 8 cards that encapsulate the nature of that character and then translate that into a visual expression. Gideon Jura is our knight in shining armor with a damaged past. He fearlessly faces down danger to protect the innocent with no regard for his own safety. He's the hero that can and will make the ultimate sacrifice. As the graphic designer for this product I focused on Gideon's inner light coming forth and imbuing him with invulnerability. I looked to his iconic weaponry, specifically his shield as analogy for his willingness to protect others.
